Our client is one of the world’s largest financial services groups, operating across the globe, and offering a range of services including banking, mortgages, insurance, brokerage, credit services to name but a few.
Purpose of the project
Jarred Consulting were asked to support the Graduate recruitment team in training line managers who were responsible for graduate interviewing and assessing in the UK. As a leading graduate recruiter, it was important for the client to position themselves as ‘best in class’ from an internal perspective, as well as from an external reputational point of view. Improvement of the candidate experience was also a key driver, along with risk management and achieving consistency of assessment amongst the team.
How Jarred Consulting helped
We were asked to develop a week-long pilot programme, to train assessors at all levels in the organisation.
Following detailed conversations with key internal stakeholders and recruitment leads, we designed a bespoke training course with supporting materials. Despite the a tight time frame in which to deliver this pilot, the course covered all the key theory as well as allowing time for practical application which enhanced the learning experience.
A small team of trainers from Jarred Consulting then delivered and facilitated the pilot programme, delivering three sessions per day. Participants ranged from relatively new associates, to senior heads of banking, and their levels of practical experience varied enormously. As a result, we tailored each session to meet many varying needs and ensure that the clients’ objectives were met. We received positive feedback from the delegates on the courses and it is the client’s aim to roll out further assessor training in the new year, which we hope to be supporting.
