Kerry Jarred
Managing Director
Kerry is a talent management specialist with twenty years’ senior management and consulting experience within top professional, legal and financial services firms. As founder and Managing Director of Jarred Consulting, Kerry identified an opportunity for the provision of independent, expert opinion and advice in the talent management arena, by people who have ‘been in your shoes’.
The core values of her business reflect and build upon what she learnt during her in-house roles at PwC, Deloitte, Herbert Smith, and HSBC. Working in partnership with her clients, Kerry strives to understand the overall business strategy and to ensure that project objectives are closely aligned to this. This necessitates a deep understanding of each individual client – their unique approach, culture, specific needs, and working style.
The Jarred Consulting team consists of experts in their fields across the talent management spectrum, and across industries. Many of the team are ex-colleagues or work associates, who bring an array of different skills and perspectives. This enables her to hand-pick individuals with the relevant background and experience to support each piece of work.
As an independent consultant, Kerry has assisted her clients at both a strategic and operational level, often overseeing the implementation of initiatives. Kerry’s clients have included: Barclays Wealth, HSBC, DLA Piper, Heinz, Waitrose, Simmons & Simmons, Deloitte, John Lewis Partnership, Black Lawyers Directory, Citibank, Standard Chartered, ASDA, Berwin Leighton Paisner, Herbert Smith, 3, Hogan Lovell’s, Morgan Advanced Materials, RPC, Roke, CMS, Kennedys, Ashurst, TLT, White & Case, Arup, Saffery Champness.
As a business founder, she also understands the challenges of Scaling Up, and is passionate about making things happen, and achieving business ambitions, through the alignment of Purpose, Values, Capabilities, and infrastructure. Kerry is currently a Trustee at Woking & Sam Beare Hospice and is part of the team at ReImagineLAW creating podcasts to help people learn about the career opportunities within the legal sector. Alongside this sit her other businesses a-Maze Consulting helping law firms navigate SQE and legal apprenticeships, and Ignium Consulting helping purpose led businesses to scale up.
Early Career
Having completed a degree in English and Philosophy at Warwick University, Kerry part-qualified as an accountant with PwC.
Whilst at PwC she moved into the entry level talent management arena. Following this, she held senior management roles at Deloitte, Herbert Smith, and finally as Global Head of Graduate Recruitment and Development at HSBC.
Kerry held a board position with the Association of Graduate Recruiters (AGR) between 2004 and 2007 and was also Chair of the Research Information task group and founded and chaired the legal sector focus group. Kerry remains an active member of the ISE (Insitute for Student Employers). Kerry has also held various advisory roles for widening access organisations.
