Miranda Isherwood

Associate

CIPD qualified and with psychometric training equivalent to BPS Levels A&B, Miranda has over 20 years’ resourcing experience, gained predominantly within professional and financial services. This experience has been gained both through agency and in-house experience, as well as working as an external consultant for the past 10 years.

Prior to becoming an external consultant Miranda gained experience in both graduate recruitment and generalist HR at PwC before going on to run the graduate recruitment programme for Smith & Williamson, a top ten accounting and investment firm. During this time she conducted a full review of the graduate recruitment process, compiling a new application form and graduate brochure, implementing psychometric testing to the process and introducing a new written exercise for candidates. The role also encompassed experienced hire recruitment, and this was predominantly her focus when moving into legal recruitment in house to further broaden her experience. This provided the opportunity to develop experience in senior level recruitment, and the role included raising the profile of the firm in a challenging market, and implementing a new authorisation process for vacancies.

In 2008 Miranda took the decision to work in a freelance capacity, and since then has worked on a wide range of clients. Within the legal sphere this has included conducting competency and motivation based telephone interviews for Eversheds Sutherland, application form screening and telephone interviews for Hogan Lovells, and application form screening for Pennington Manches.

More widely Miranda maintained her relationship with PwC, and has worked as panel member for Director and Partner Promotion interviews, as a telephone interviewer for their student recruitment programme and trained managers in competency based interview skills. She has worked with EY as a Strengths Spotter on their student assessment days using strengths based methodology (as well as conducting a number of interviews for the business), and on assessment days at Deloitte. In the charity sector Miranda works for Teach First and Police Now, working for the latter as a coach for BAME candidates to support them through the assessment process and regularly interviewing on their assessment days. Miranda also utilises her coaching skills at Cass Business School where she has worked as a careers advisor since 2013 to support Masters’ students in their job search. Other clients have included HSBC, HM Border Force, Royal Mail, TFL and Job Centre Plus.
